USNS Sisler and USNS Watkins Participate in 2016 Group Sail Exercise in Diego Garcia

This photo was taken just as the SISLER was ordered to join the formation. SISLER increased speed to stationing speed of 16 Knots and kept on the opposite course of the column until she could turn 180 degrees and join the formation as the last ship in the column.

It takes about ½ mile or 1000 yards of transfer to reverse course.

At the Master’s meeting following the Group Sail SISLER received a BZ (Well Done) for making that maneuver.
